Title
Development of anodic materials with elevated hydrogen sulfide tolerance for HT-PEMFCs using reformat
Abstract
The use of PEMFCs at low or high temperature represents a promising alternative to combustion engines for numerous applications, even if pure hydrogen is not an option as fuel. Unfortunately the presence of C-species and in particular S-species can lead to significant deactivation of the active materials used as electrodes. This is observed as a loss in the performance of the fuel cell. In order to diminish this problem the development of alternatives Pt-based electrodes has been extensively studied. This study presents the development and evaluation of alternative Pt-based electrodes which exhibit a significantly increased resilience against H<inf>2</inf>S poisoning.
