Flexible optimization tools for intelligent manufacturing systems

Flexible optimisation tools are gaininy importance in times of short product-life-cycles and quickly changing constraints. Organizational changes, like the concepts of the fractal company additionely require user friendly interfaces. In this paper an evolutionbased optimisation tool (Genetic Algorithms) is presented. This system is applicable to a variety of tasks and easy configurable towards real-life processes. The work prepares for a broad application of GAs in industrial settings by providing a user-oriented coding. After modelling and coding the problem any scheduling-related problem can be optimised.
