Sintering of hardmetals - thermoanalytical simulation

Abstract
Current sintering technologies need a better and better knowledge on the processes taking place and advanced strategies for the optimization of the materials properties and the technologies for the prodn. The utilization of methods of thermal anal. for the exptl. simulation of technol. procedures under prodn.-near conditions has been proved for some years. Debinding, outgassing and sintering are the basic processes during the heating of hardmetal mixts. Results are given for WC-Co hardmetals, for doped hardmetals and for mixed carbide contg. hardmetals. Methods of scale-up the results in the prodn. area are discussed. [on SciFinder (R)]
