Title
Area Services: A Novel Service Class for B5G & 6G Mobile Networks
Abstract
With the integration of advanced sensing and localization into 6G mobile networks, a new class of services emerges. Services that are not primarily focused on single users, but designated geographical areas of interest. Rather than the traditional predominantly end-device-focused network services, area services can benefit not just individual users but also businesses and other organizations. Both public and non-public networks can support these new services and bring value to users and operators, but it is crucial that the 6G system design takes them into account from the beginning. In this paper we discuss this new service class in detail, proposing an architecture for their integration into a 5G/6G service-based network architecture.
