Title

Zentralisierte Netzwerküberwachung durch vereinheitlichte Kombination von OpenSource-Werkzeugen

Abstract
The increasing utilization of intelligent networks inevitably leads to a rising dependency on the smooth functioning of these networks. High availability has to be guaranteed far beyond the design phase. Therefore, a goal-oriented monitoring of all essential network devices is necessary. A reasonably priced alternative to commercial Network Management Suits are Open Source Tools. Unfortunately, the focus of many Open Source Tools is limited to single features. Thus, several Open Source Tools have to be installed in combination to cover the full spectrum of common business solutions. Here, one of the main problems is the diversity of the installation, configuration, operation, and presentation of the different tools. Currently, Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) is developing the Network Monitoring Station NeMoS. This solution combines the advantages of low purchase costs and a simplified human-machine interface.
