Title
Evaluation of the influence of the electric potential in jet electrochemical machining
Abstract
Electrochemical Machining with closed electrolytic free jet (Jet-ECM) is an innovative technology for the generation of micro structured surfaces and complex threedimensional micro geometries [1, 2]. Jet-ECM is specified by high current densities with a high local material removal, high localization of erosion and high surface quality [2, 3]. In this study, the influence of electrical voltage and working gap on the erosion process is presented. For performing systematic experiments, a new generator was implemented in the existing Jet-EC prototype system. The current densities were evaluated for different values of voltage and gap. In addition, the machining results like widths, depths and surface qualities of the generated geometries were analyzed and compared.
