Estimation of mutual coupling in irregular planar arrays
Abstract
An efficient method for estimating the mutual coupling is reviewed specifically with regard to irregular planar arrays. A peculiarity of the method is its flexibility. It can be used in conjunction with arbitrarily inclined and arbitrarily distributed radiators of any shape. Full-wave simulations of the entire array model are avoided by only considering the first order radiator interaction. Results for an array that consists of inclined apertures are shown and compared to a reference solution.
