A novel concept of a vein viewer based on a bidirectional OLED microdisplay

Abstract
Bidirectional OLED based microdisplays offer interesting possibilities for new applications. A new optical concept of a veins viewer based on bidirectional OLED microdisplay will be presented. The veins viewer records an IR-image of your veins and this image will be projected in the visible range onto your skin. This enables the visualization of the superficial blood vessels below human skin. Thereby, a simplified and not painful therapy of the patient is possible.
