Joint editing in an SGML environment

Companies are evolving into world-wide operating enterprises embeddedin networks of communication, product manufacturing, and information/document exchange. Therefore we saw a need for a document server supporting joint editing of large documents in world-wide distributed environments. The presentation will show design and development of an SGML-based CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work) authoring environment which supports joint editing between the ZGDV head office in Darmstadt, Germany and its external division CRCG in Providence, USA.
