Title

Scope 3 Data in Electronics Supply Chains: How to Address Common Challenges and Pitfalls

Abstract
Depending on the position of an electronics company in the supply chain, the majority of greenhouse gas emissions attributable to its products may be generated in its upstream supply chains (Scope 3). Measuring Scope 3 emissions presents companies with a number of challenges. To address identified challenges such as the lack of reliable data and communication with suppliers, we have developed a practical guide for companies and a prototypical software tool. The guide and tool were employed in training sessions, where we provided a realistic scenario for companies to collaboratively develop solutions.
