Title

Optical 3R regenerator based on Q-switched laser

Abstract
A polarization and wavelength insensitive Q-switched laser is applied in a 3R regenerator experiment. The optical regenerator shows a negative power penalty of -2 dB at a data rate of 10 Gb/s RZ. The Q-switched laser offers a steep nonlinear all-optical transfer function. The optical 3R regenerator was tested with a degraded input signal.
