Title

Modelling of thermally activated building components with R-C networks incorporated within macro elements

Abstract
This paper presents an effective modelling method for thermal simulations of thermally activated building constructions, and a scheme in which the resulting mathematical models can be implemented in a commonly used dynamic simulation computer program. The advantage of this method is the fact that only a limited number of nodes are required to obtain reliable results for the simulation. A general overview of the modelling method, based on an earlier conducted analysis is provided and the modelling method is described in detail in a presented case study. A comparison of the new model and a derived analytic solution for a case example shows the quality of the model.
