Transparent optical multistable frequency stage using an injection locked Fabry-Perot converter laser

Abstract
A multistable optical frequency converter for a transparent crossconnect is reported. 2 THz conversion span (100 GHz steps), low input power (-35-20 dBm) and fibre-fibre gain up to 8 dB are the main characteristics of the commercially available device.
