Title

Technical Safety Maintenance Systems - An Integrative Approach

Abstract
Increasing legal requirements regarding technical safety maintenance systems and increasing pressure on value chains due to global competition challenge enterprises in their daily business. Merging product and occupational safety in suitable phases will reduce redundancies and set resources free for value adding activities. Synergies not just occur within own organizations but also through reasonable collaboration between supplier and their customer may enable enterprises to reduce their effort regarding technical safety assessments and even support inter-organizational learning in their value chains. The introduced innovative approach aims on optimizing processes between suppliers and their customers regarding technical safety maintenance systems. This innovative approach shall release synergies between product safety and occupational safety and health leading to reduced costs and time savings for both parties. Therefore the approach discloses a way to combine requirem ents of the machinery directive 2006/42/ EC and laws passed by the European Committee regarding occupational safety and health.
