Title
Context gathering an enabler for information logistics
Abstract
The goal of info-logistical applications is to provide an optimised information supply to individuals that spans across various dimensions. Among these dimensions context plays a significant role. Adjusting information supply to entities context enables info-logistical applications to tap the full potential of optimisation. Obviously, a prerequisite for a context-sensitive information supply is the existence of suitable means of determining contexts. In this paper we present our approach to context gathering by outlining models and methods that serve as a guideline for an efficient acquisition of context data. We show how these mechanisms enable info-logistical applications to become context-aware and as a result to provide information of increased value to users.
