Title

Takt-oriented production - a PPC method meeting the requirements of the tooling industry

Abstract
The paper deals with the configuration of production systems and production planning and control functions applied in today's manufacturing companies. The paper first discusses the production requirements in job-shop production that are found in the tooling industry and illustrates the limits for applying lean approaches to this environment. Subsequently, a solution is described for designing a production system and a production planning and control method which successfully implement and adapt lean methods to the conditions of job-shop manufacturing.
