Carbon containing sialon - composites

This paper reports scientific results of the development of refractory composite materials on the basis of SiAlON/corundum/graphite with from the application point of view tailor-made microstructure for linings and functional components, such as submerged entry nozzles in the continuous horizontal casting. These components present high service characteristics and are superior to corundum - graphite - based refractories in high temperature strengs and withstanding high temperature corrosion.
