Title
A mathematical methodology to achieve an economical and energetic optimal quality control within the production
Abstract
In order to avoid that faulty units reach downstream production stages and cause a significant amount of costs and energy consumption, quality control steps need to be realised within the production. Though, quality control steps cause economical as well as energetic effort. As part of the inspection planning, production planners have to decide about the implementation of quality control steps in terms of economical as well as energetic criteria. This decision causes a high effort. Moreover, it is not always possible to achieve an economical as well as energetic optimal solution concerning whether or not a quality control step should be implemented within the production. In order to deal with this issue, a mathematical based methodology to achieve an economical and energetic optimal quality control within the production was developed. This paper describes the development of the methodology and explains the procedure of the methodology. Finally, the methodology is verified and several benefits are pointed out.
