Title

Production of ultrafine explosive particles in non-aqueous systems by bead milling technology

Abstract
Ultrafine explosives particles were produced by a bead milling technology. Microscaled HMX-material was gained by milling of a non-aqueous HMX-suspension with a diving basket mill, filled with ceramic beads. Particles with mean size of 1.37 µm could be successfully produced in technical scale. The dried product showed a reduced friction sensitivity.
