Surface structuring of tooth flanks
Abstract
In view of increasing requirements regarding surface quality and load capacity of gears, new process strategies have been developed to structure the surface of tooth flanks. Using kinematic modulation in discontinuous generating grinding creates a specific surface structure and an improved surface roughness. Technological investigations were carried out to determine the effect of kinematic modulation on the work result, varying the frequency and the amplitude.
