Abstract
Pultruded profiles with a thermoplastic matrix gain increasing relevance for the industry due to their particular advantages such as recyclability and the ability to be functionalized (e. g. overmolding, thermoforming, etc.). Especially in-situ pultruded profiles manufactured with polyamide 6 enable various solutions based on the vast experience with this material for technical solutions. Today the production of thermoplastic profiles with 73 % FVC of glass and 74 % FVC of carbon fibers at production speeds up to 2 m/min is already possible, even if it did not yet enter series production in a large scale. Due to the novelty of the process and its own chemistry, deep knowledge of materials and process parameters is required.
