Title

Cross-company collaboration between automotive and semiconductor industry - Alignment of orders and capacity in complex supply networks

Abstract
The aim of this article is to define the key differences between automotive and semiconductor industry. The focus is on supply chain planning philosophies, planning horizons as well as on long-term and short term flexibility distinguishing the industry-specific supply chains. Based on the interfaces between the two complex supply chains, approaches are presented for improving the collaborative supply chain planning and control activities to enable a more efficient coordination of production capacity and a better response to short-term demand fluctuations. The article includes and capitalizes on the results of industrial projects.
