Scanning heterodyne spectrometer with different local oscillator laser types

Abstract
Three different types of tunable laser diodes for use in a scanning heterodyne spectrometer at 1.55 mu m were examined. Typical criteria like linewidth, tuning range, driving conditions and output power were measured and compared.
