Features and perspectives of fleet management systems

Research has shown that finding a global and comprehensive overview of software producers of fleet management products is a challenging assignment. So far no such overview seems to exist only some papers dealing with few producers can be found. The market contains a lot of software producers of different sizes and origins, which offer preconfigured systems for certain functionalities and different target groups. The goal of this study was to make the market transparent and give information about companies, systems and their functionalities. More than 30 companies for multi-functional and specialized software in the area of fleet management systems are considered in the study. The result is a widespread overview of companies and products sorted into different categories. Various functionalities of fleet management systems are explained and additional information is given about the market size and current trends for the market and the described products.
