Abstract
Cellulose and carbon dioxide (CO2) belong to the most promising carbon sources for sustainable processes in the field of industrial biotechnology. Cellulose is the most abundant biological polymer on earth and microbial carbon dioxide consumption represents one possibility to reduce global warming. Clostridial biocatalysts are able to utilize both carbon sources efficiently and offer various ways to develop new industrial processes.
