Rationalized manufacture of structural wood components

Herkömmliche Holztafelelemente weisen eine Kleinteiligkeit auf, die mit hohem Arbeitsaufwand und dadurch auch mit einer großen Fehlerwahrscheinlichkeit verbunden ist. Im Forschungsvorhaben "Verbundquerschnitte aus Holzwerkstoffen für lastabtragende Wände" sind Rationalisierungsmöglichkeiten bei der Herstellung von Holztafelelementen untersucht worden. Neue Möglichkeiten der Elementfertigung können auch eine Qualitätssteigerung bewirken.

Traditional timber frame elements comprise a large number of small parts which are extremely labour-intensive and this makes them prone to processing faults. The possibilities of rationalisation in connection with the manufacture of timber frame elements were examined in the project "Compound cross sections of wooden materials for load-bearing walls". New possibilities opened up by the use of compound elements could also lead to an improvement in quality.
