Homogenization for contact problems for hypprosthesis with periodically rough surfaces
We consider the contact problem for two elastic bodies with rough surfaces in the interface for the mechanical modeling. The size of the micro-peaks and -valleys is very small compared with the macrosize of the bodies' domains. Based on the two-scale homogenization technique, a method is developed that allows deriving a macrocontact condition on the interface from the the microgeometry of the interface layer and the stiffnesses of materials of both domains. The approach is illustrated by the application to the hip-prosthesis-bone contact.
