X-ray detectors to discover dangerous substances

They can detect dangerous substances at lightning speed and even in low concentrations: highly sensitive x-ray detectors that analyze the content of materials. They are being developed by researchers at Fraunhofer EMFT and Ketek GmbH. They could potentially be used for materials detection in recycling plants, for authenticating works of art, for food quality assurance, and for monitoring the quality of air and water.
