Titel

Thermal energy from machining process. A dominating factor on form in ultra- and high-precision-turning

Abstract
This report gives an overview about the influences from thermal expansion of tool and workpiece on the achieveable form accuracy in High-Precision-Turning of hardened Steel (HRC bigger than 56) and Diamond Turning of Non-Ferrus-Metals like Copper and Aluminium. Different ways for reduction of this thermal influence from the process energy are shown and the results by using cooling systems are presented.
