Laserstrahlhärten im industriellen Einsatz

In industrial manufacturing transformation hardening of small and complicated shapes, especially parts difficult of access to conventional hardening techniques, causes a lot of problems concerning distortion or the correct observance of pretended hardening geometries. Laser transformation hardening as a flexible contactless technique offers a high potential in hardening such geometries. In this paper the hardening of different parts by different laser systems and the development and transfer of pilot plants in industrial manufacturing will be presented. The possibility of process control will be discussed and an economic comparison of the different laser system will be given.
