The testing of the inner layers of complex structures and multi-layer systems is a challenge for measuring methods used to date. One solution to this is offered by optical coherence tomography (OCT) developed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology. The method was tested for the wall thickness measurement of plastic vials.
