Abstract
This working paper addresses the discussion about the sustainability of green hydrogen and its synthesis products. It serves as a basis for developing a common understanding of the sustainabil-ity of hydrogen and its synthesis products in the HYPAT (Global Hydrogen Potential Atlas) re-search project. Both the hydrogen production processes and upstream processes are considered, including environmental and social impacts. The criteria developed in this document serve as background information for evaluating potential, and for economic and model calculations within HYPAT.
