Adhesion mechanisms of aluminium surfaces

The forming and the behaviour of adhesion between polymers and aluminium surfaces is not understood in terms of the classic theories about adhesional mechanisms in two-dimensional systems. In reality the adhesional zone is a three-dimensional system in which during the forming of the adhesion and during the service life both polymer and metal surface influence and change each other. A better knowledge of these interaction is a starting point for a systematic optimization of the components.
