Systemsimulation und Erprobung in der Trailerentwicklung

Over the last years the introduction of virtual development and simulation methods has had an enormous impact on the development process for vehicles. Especially the high number of vehicle variants in commercial vehicle industry - together with concurrent importance concerning reliability - pushed the introduction of refined test and simulations environments a lot. However, performing physical tests still is a key element in the durability refinement and validation process. Beginning with building up customer related design loads, an efficient process is characterized by a good combination of test and simulation. In this paper targets, tools and useful interactions in this process are explained. Some typical application examples in the process of developing trailers at Schmitz Cargobull are shown.
