Malignant melanotic schwannomas induced by 1,1-dimethylhydrazine, European hamster

Melanotic schwannomas were observed in European hamsters treated with 1,1-Dimethylhydrazine (UDMH). The morphological characteristics of this rare tumor type are described as well as discussed in consideration of its histogenesis, biological behaviour, differential diagnosis and occurence in man and other animal species.
