Synopse ausgewählter Indikatorenansätze für Sustainable Development

Chapter 40 of Agenda 21, established on the Rio conference is devoted to the monitoring and communication of parameters of sustainable development. It demands the conception of a system of indicators for sustainable development. In addition to the Commission of Sustainable Development of the UN further international organisations like the World Bank and UNSTAT, research institutes (SCOPE, SEI) and NGO's (World Resource Institute, NEF/WWF) are participating strongly in the discussion about a system of indicators. The submitted project report presents the relevant concepts of sustainability criteria. A detailed comparison of specific indicators will supply concrete information about the level of detail, feasibility and thematical completeness.
