Characterization of the First Field-Deployed 15-Mode Fiber Cable for High Density Space-Division Multiplexing

Abstract
We characterize the first field-deployed 15-mode fiber cab le. We evaluate differential mode delay and mode dependent loss over 2 distances of 6km and 48km. Both quantities are sufficiently low to confirm field-usability of the fiber cable.
