Title

Partial reflection drift measurements in the lower ionosphere over Juliusruh during winter and spring 1989 and comparison with other wind observations

Abstract
Results of partial reflection drift measurements in the lower ionosphere at Juliusruh are described. The wind data are derived by a complex correlation analysis under realtime conditions. Comparisons of the results obtained in the period from January to April 1989, with corresponding wind values observed by ionospheric drift measurements in the low-frequency range at the Geophysical Observatory Collm (about 370 km apart) show a good agreement in the 30-minute mean values as well as in the diurnal prevailing components. Height-time cross sections of the zonal and meridional prevailing wind components in the height region between 75 and 90 km are determined.
