Abstract
Cratering problems in painting processes caused enormous economical loss during the last years. in this lecture the results of a joint project - organized by DFO - including Automotive Companies, paint manufacturers and the Fraunhofer-Institute IPA will be presented: causes of cratering and disturbance of wetting in combination with important parameters, strategy of avoidance, prophylactical steps and measures in case of cratering problems in the production.
