Pareto Optimization and Decision Making in Process Design

The design of chemical production processes faces the challenge of finding a good compromise in the trade-off between cost and quality. In this work, mathematical techniques are presented to address this challenge. The feasibility and the benefit of applying these techniques to industrial processes is shown.
