Title

UV absorption cross sections of sulfur hexafluoride and acetonitrile

Abstract
Aacetonitril AB UV absorption cross sections are determined at room temperature for SF6 in the gas phase in the wavelength range from 115 to 170 nm and for CH3CN from 155 to 186 nm. For an extension of the wavelength range, the cross sections of CH3CN are determined in the liquid phase from 190 to 240 nm from comparison. The cross sections are lower than previous literature data and are discussed with respect to the fate of these molecules.
