Title
Identification of Planning Periods Based on Time Series Characteristics for the Design of Matrix Production Systems
Abstract
Companies globally compete to create products tailored to customer needs. This area of tension affects the design of production and logistics systems, which have therefore become increasingly flexible and changeable in recent years and decades. One form of these production systems is called matrix production systems. Matrix production systems, increasingly used in both research and industry, focus on system design and control. But traditional planning assumes long planning periods, which are not sufficiently differentiated. This paper examines how multiple consecutive and approximately homogeneous planning periods can be identified in order to design specific production and logistics systems for them. The developed method focuses on enabling planners to divide and differentiate a long planning period into several periods at an early planning stage.
