Title

Optimising material efficiency through new technologies

Title Supplement
Potential and examples for applications in industry
Abstract
Material efficiency through the application of new technologies can help industry to lower costs by reducing material consumption. Especially new materials and nanotechnology offer inherent potentials for efficient products and processes due to associated specific effects and conditions. Technological solutions with material efficiency potential are partly and in specific contexts known and in practise but lacking broad application. In order to allow a diffusion of known potentials and existing applications, the identification and evaluation of specific applications becomes necessary. Companies, intending to increase their material efficiency should be aware of typical success factors and challenges to become able to implement effective measures.
