Title

3MA non-destructive analysis on hardened material by finite element simulation and experiment

Abstract
In this paper, the 3MA NDT method for measuring hardening depth using harmonic analysis and incremental permeability is proposed. The flux density in hardened steel is examined using 2D FEM code taking into account the hysteretic behavior. The simulation results are validated by comparison to experiments and shows good accuracy. Correlation between magnetic quantities and hardening depth is determined.
