New framework for digital factory planning

The main focus of this paper is on demonstrating a systematic and integrating model framework for the modelling of resources in factory planning. The framework integrates the different views of the various participants in factory planning. The need for such a framework is derived from the new requirements for enterprises in a dynamic world and the corresponding change drivers. The framework is matched with the requirements of the Digital Factory concept. On the one hand, the use of the framework is explained by applying it to an area and space usage model and on the other by its interaction with a planning task specify model. The task specify planning model originates from the field of layout planning.
