Potentials of multi-aspect and multi-frequency radar imaging illustrated by experimental results in Ka- and W-band

Abstract
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images especially of man-made objects are very sensitive to variations in aspect angle and frequency. Even small changes to the viewing direction or the center frequency can have a great impact on the calculated reflectivity image. This additional information on targets could be used to improve the performance of target recognition and identification. This paper discusses and illustrates the potentials of multi-aspect and multi-frequency SAR using airborne SAR data from a NATO SET-250 campaign in the UK.
