Global responsibility for green electronics and ICT

The electronics and ICT industry will have to change the design and the way they produce products in the future. Technology development and product innovations have to be guided by global governance in order to create real benefits with as less rebound effects as possible. Advanced electronic technologies are necessary and useful instruments to support a sustainable development on a regional and global level. But although technological development is a necessary pre-condition it is not a sufficient one for sustainable development.
