Title

The integration of available technology into successful business models for health promotion networks

Abstract
Many economies have to face changing demographics. Currently there is a trend towards severe illnesses at the end of an individual's life time. Health promotion and disease prevention are promising and adequate ways to avoid such a future. Health promotion provides also an opportunity for business: service providers on the one hand, manufacturers of personal health systems on the other. What devices are already available on the market? There is an obvious lack of appropriate business models in the health prevention and wellness market in Germany. How to adequately develop a market for technology driven innovations? A systematic approach for the creation of new business models as well as new services is discussed. Case studies of business models from the German market and available technology are being presented as examples for already successful business models. A health promotion program is used to present how new services with focus on network benefits can be designed.
