RF-circuits in digital CMOS processes

Continuous shrinking of the feature sizes in modern CMOS processes enables inexpensive ICs operating at very high frequencies. Based on an industrial 0.25µm process the design of a Low-Noise-Amplifier for RF applications is discussed in this paper. It serves as an example for excellent circuit performance that is possible if proper process characterization and strong focus on analog requirements are employed.
