Colloids for nanobiotechnology: An introduction

This chapter presents a short definition of "colloids for nanobiotechnology." This involves a discussion of nomenclature, which often is not precisely defined and so different words are used for the same material. While many aspects mentioned, such as the synthesis and characterization and even the biological use of colloids, are not entirely new, the conceptual novelty of their use in the field of nanobiotechnology is also discussed.
